Jedd Novatt was born in New York City in 1958.

After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in 1980, Novatt spent the year studying and working in France at the Lacoste School of the Arts, now part of Savannah College of Art and Design. In 1981, Novatt returned to New York City where he had his first studio on Warren Street in Tribeca. He had his first solo show in New York City in 1993.

In 2002 Novatt moved to Paris France, where he currently resides with his family. He divides his time among studios in Paris and the Basque region in Spain.

Novatt's work has been exhibited extensively in galleries and museums in the United States, Europe and Asia. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections worldwide.

SCAD Museum of Art simultaneously exhibited a group of Jedd Novatt's monotypes titled Chaos Pacific.

Custot Gallery Dubai is holding a group exhibition Black and White from 13 March until 15 July 2017. Included in the exhibition is one of Novatt's sculptures Chaos Frenetico.

Sotheby's 2016 Beyond Limits at Chatsworth House features Novatt's monumental sculpture Chaos Meteoro (September 10 - October 31, 2016). Beyond Limits is among the most important annual exhibitions of monumental sculpture. 2016 marks the 6th year of Novatt's participation in this prestigious exhibition.

In November 2015, Chatsworth House Trust acquired Jedd Novatt's monumental sculpture Chaos Meteoro for permanent installation on the estate in Derbyshire, UK. The work has been installed at the top of the 100 Stairs above the Maze and joins works by artists such as Richard Long, Barry Flanagan, David Nash, Damien Hirst, and William Turnbull.

Middlebury College Museum of Art acquired Chaos Xaxis in October 2015 for permanent installation on the campus.
Chaos II, Novatt's second work in his Chaos series is simultaneously being exhibited in the Museum.
Chaos Xaxis joins a number of other works in the Museum's collection of outdoor sculpture by artists such as Joseph Beuys, Tony Smith, Robert Indiana, and Jonathan Borofsky.

Jedd Novatt's monumental work Chaos Getaria 2015 was permanently installed at Siena Heights University in Adrian MI. The sculpture is stands on the main quad in front of the Francoeur Theater, Performing Arts Center.

The El Paso Museum of Art in El Paso, Texas has acquired the work Chaos Redux by Jedd Novatt. Chaos Redux, 2005 Bronze 126" x 96" x 36"

Art Plural Gallery of Singapore has just published the book Voices of Contemporary Art, which includes Jedd Novatt's work, by Art Historian Michael Peppiatt featuring interviews by Jane A. Peterson. The book was curated by Frédéric de Senarclens.

Art Plural Galery of Singapore exhibited new works by Jedd Novatt including Chaos Fisura at Art Stage Singapore 2014 and in the exhibition FLUX at Art Plural Gallery.

Two monumental sculptures by Jedd Novatt, Chaos SAS in stainless steel and Chaos Bizkaia in bronze, have been acquired by the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). The two works will be permanently exhibited in the sculpture garden of the new Herzog & de Meuron-designed museum in downtown Miami, Florida. PAMM is scheduled to open on December 4, 2013 during Art Basel Miami Beach.

Galerie Diane de Polignac in Paris, France is exhibiting several of Jedd Novatt's sculptures and objects from their private collection. The exhibition will run from September 23, 2013 to December 20, 2013. The gallery is publishing a catalog of the exhibition with an essay by Khalil de Chazournes, and a brief interview between Novatt and the collector Stephan Wrobel.

Jedd Novatt will be exhibiting with Hamiltons Gallery, London, UK and Galerie Diane de Polignac, Paris, France at MASTERPIECE 2013 LONDON (June 27th through July 3rd).

Jedd Novatt, Lever House New York City, 2013: Three works, including Chaos Abaco, 2012 - 6.8 Meters in bronze - were installed January 12th at the Lever House in NYC and will be exhibited throughout the winter. The two other works are Chaos Caliente and Chaos Agosto. See a photo of Chaos Abaco being lowered into the courtyard of the Lever House at 53rd Street and Park Avenue.

Chaos Nervion, 2011 a 7.4 meter work in bronze was installed permanently by the City of Bilbao, Spain in the Campa de Los Ingleses surrounded by the Guggenheim Museum, The Moneo Library and the Pelli Tower. The work was unveiled on the 27th of July, 2012.

Three monumental works in Bronze were exhibited at the Alfa Arte in Eibar, Spain in June, 2012.

Novatt's recent works in stainless steel, Chaos Agosto and Chaos Caliente, are exhibited at the Lever House in New York City, 2012.

Novatt's monumental sculpture, Chaos Madrid, is part of the Sotheby's Beyond Limits 2011 exhibition at Chatsworth House, England -- Novatt's fourth consecutive year of participation.

Chaos Eibar is exhibited by Hamiltons Gallery in the Pavilion of Art & Design, London, 12-16 October 2011.

Beginning 21 October, La Piscine, Musee d'Art et d'Industrie in France presents the exhibition La Piscine a Dix Ans, which features two Novatt sculptures, both belonging to the museum's permanent collection.

Novatt's monumental work Chaos Vascos is currently on exhibition in Parque Pinosolo, Leioa, Spain.

On July 16, 2011, Novatt's monumental work Chaos Pamplona was installed permanently in Younvtille California, the center of Napa Valley.

Novatt's Chaos San Sebastien was exhibited with Hamiltons Gallery at the Masterpiece London, June 2011.

Karl Hutter Fine Art Los Angeles held a show of Novatt's sculpture, May 10 - July 31, 2011.

Novatt's monumental sculpture Chaos 12 was exhibited in "Monumental" Boca Raton, Florida, Summer 2011.

Novatt's Chaos Pamplona was shown in Sotheby's Beyond Limits exhibition (Sep - Nov 2010) at Chatsworth House, England - Novatt's third consecutive year of participation.

The solo installation and exhibition of Chaos Mundaka opened on September 27th in Brown Harts Garden Mayfair, Central London with Hamiltons Gallery. Chaos Mundaka was unveiled as part of London's revolving City of Sculpture programme for the 2012 Olympic Games. To view the press release, click here.
